Lost Mirror

This series is directly inspired by my love of the delicateness and excitement of woodblock prints. Mixed with my own take on the human form & modern illustration I use this ancient style to connect with a part of myself that feels both foreign and extremely comforting.

Only a few years ago my family discovered our Korean ethnicity through a DNA test. This realization felt like it explained so much of myself but also the guilt of a white girl appropriating another more interesting culture often remains. I explore art and culture as a way to understand and come to turns with the many facettes of my identity.
